WAKD

Last night we played a gig with This Is Two & We are Knuckledragger from Newcastle Northern Ireland!  It was a great gig and whilst there wasn’t a massive turn out for the bands, we all had lots of fun and everybody played a really great set! The other bands were very impressing and tight! We’re just uploading a video now so we’ll post that here when it’s done! It’s of our brand new song which we thought there was no better way than trying it out than playing it LAST in the set! Tell us what you think!

Next up is our first long distance gig, in London!

We’re playing with Pilgrim Fathers, Dud and Heck Tate, it should be a really great gig and we’re much looking forward to our first long trip out in the Postman! It’s a regular night held in the club Catch 22 called Snaketown! If your in or around London, come see us play on Wednesday 7th December! Wish us luck!

Will report back with the video and of course lots of footage from our first ever long journey!

Our gear/tone blog!

Long no time no blog!

Right,

massive update as of NOVEMBER 2011.

Our lovely new EP came out on the 22nd of October and we had a really great time celebrating it’s release in the Shipping Forecast in Liverpool with Iron Witch, The Bendal Interlude and Alpha Male Tea Party even though some ground issues with an old Sunn amp we borrowed from Iron Witch (Thanks again!) we were getting lots of shocks in soundcheck! Overall a really great night!! Thank you to everyone who came down!

We’ve played some strange and wonderful shows since then, a socialist/anarchist venue’s birthday, a Halloween show where we dressed up as KISS with Liam from Springbok and also a lovely evening slot at the Mello Mello for OXJAM.

Since our last blog, Jack has passed his driving test and so all’s that is left for us is to invade the world with ‘The Postman’, jack’s car…

of course our gear set-up is constantly changing, we’ve welcome a Hiwatt Custom 100 to our roster and it’s definitely here to stay and changing lots of fuzz and more incoming/outgoing!

Our EP Colour was born on the 22/10/11 and is available to download Here.

Or if you want a physical copy (In a lovely nice Digipack) please email us at;

jackrobertevans@hotmail.co.uk

Pictures are up from all this on our facebook Here.

Also, we’re taking a small gigging break for a month or so and we’re making our first long outing to London on the 7th of December where we play SNAKETOWN with Pilgrim Fathers and Dud & DJ’ing from Japanese Voyeurs, it should be a great night!

that’s all for now!

Today’s gig @ zanzibar

Went really well, after alot of worry over the people, the sound engineer and being able to play at a reasonable volume, everything was perfect!

We have got lots coming up!

Recording starts next weekend! We’re hoping to have it all done and dusted by October, which will be followed by a MEGA LAUNCH GIG YEYY! featuring Bendal Interlude, Iron Witch and The Left Hand!

Colour (the name of our new E.p) will consist of these bad boys:

  • SHOW ME ( an up beat groovy song you can get jiggy too)
  • THATS THE SOUND ( bit o’sludge)
  • COLOUR ( mega mean-ness)
  • HIDE ( bit of a slowww and pleasant one off us)
  • LOVE ( a seductive love song )

We have a few gigs coming too, if you havn’t already you should like us on facebook to get the recent updates as we don’t update this as much as we should!

EXCITING STUFF!

Gig W/Japanese Voyeurs last night!

Went absolutely fantastic!

What a really nice venue that Shipping Forcast is down in the Hold! Sort of like an old dungeon or something along those lines, and the gear hold was about 4ft from ground to ceiling, although it was good fun bending down and getting all that gear in/out, we all ended up with lots of ceiling in our hair as the brick was pretty loose! Nice!

We played really well, the sound was amazing, loud and noisy but crisp and clear! Very colourful set we thought…

We made lots of new friends who played some great music too… (Dirty Vagrants & Stereo Virgins) and also had a chat with Japanese Voyeurs who were ecstatic about AFH and also the fact that Roanne’s Swollen Pickle sounded ace! They’ve insisted on playing with us again sometime in the future which I’m sure we will…

We met a few promoters/photographers so hopefully they’ll be some new oppurtunities with them soon and hopefully we’ll get the pictures too!

Overall, a really great night full of riffs and great people, what more could we ask for?!
